An open field day means that you could fish anywhere, even in your backyard, providing it backed onto Western Australian tidal
It was great to see more people turn up for the Christmas BBQ and night cast at George's place after the weigh in. The casting
was an absolute hoot, the only problem was that it didn't last long enough. The idea was that you cast to the dimly lit
target with the aid of a glow stick, which ranged in size from Derry's glow worm to Chas's traffic direction device.
The casting was conducted mostly in good humour apart from one or two startled reactions to the results that our eminent
scorer relayed back to the recorder. Peter Stoeckel showed us all how it was done, taking out the honours for the night.
Which raises the question; maybe dry casting with one's eyes closed might be the way to go. Now to the fishing.
